Seniority report
A friend of mine is searching for the
science fiction film that has best predicted what the future will look like. At
the moment he has no idea, and will poo-pah every suggestion that anyone else
makes.
After some consideration my mate Dave decided that no one could actually be bothered to move their hands round that much just so they could use the internet. “Imagine sitting down on a Sunday morning with a hangover waving your arms all over the place to get the football scores? Not gonna happen” he ruled.
So, Last of the Summer Wine it is then. Unless you, my one reader, have any better suggestions.

Hi Mr Neal,
I think the best future view is the film 'Logan's Run'. It really predicts the world of 2010 perfectly. I was ritually executed 2 years ago on a spinning wheel dressed in a robe and it was pretty close to the event in the film. Incidentally, I did try a 'run' myself but i had 'the runs' so I couldn't run!
Your mate seems like a right one to me. I would have no problem moving one arm about to use the internet. In fact, I already do!

Hi D the N,
The most accurate future film has got to be 'Evil Dead 3'. The original UK cinema release - at the end. Not the supermarket ending.

Sir,
I think all educated people would agree that Greenaway's 'Cook, the thief, his wife and her lover' represents the most resonant future vision. I for one have my maison decorated in different predominant colours depending on the room I am in. I also have 20 barking dogs outside. THESE ARE
NOT representing the breakdown of society. Unlike a previous poster I do not laugh at my own jokes.
I remain, Sir

No competition, must be 'Contact'. Arecibo's funding has been cut as predicted. And the London Eye does resonate in an odd way in the wind. And Condoleeeezzzza Rice has actually spoken with an alien in an alien landscape. It was known in our Earth tongue as 'Jack Straw'.
